Education

Education is a fundamental focus point for a faculty society such as HSS.

Our major representatives, Postgraduate Representative and International Students Representative focus on collating feedback from our faculty students, so that we can then liaise these to the staff at UWA. Our Careers Officer connects our students with the professional world by organising our two main education events in the year; Researchers Night (Semester 1) and the Careers Café (Semester 2). We aspire to be a conduit between students, the UWA Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences and the health science community so that we can help to create a supportive educational atmosphere for students as they progress throughout their undergraduate courses. We aim to make sure our students feel prepared, informed and connected to their degree and furthermore, their relevant field upon starting their career.

The HSS education team are always keen to say hi and have a chat about anything- from tedious five-hour labs to how fashion-forward lab coats are! We also frequently collaborate with other clubs, faculty societies and the UWA Student Guild through the Education Council, so that we can further support all Biomedical Sciences students educationally at UWA.
